Project: Solid Aluminium Frame, Remote Control Catamaran
Client: Ultrabeam Hydrographic is a new Company incorporated by Andy McLeay & Gabriel Walton both highly experienced in the hydrographic surveying industry. Andy & Gabriel were keen to find a competitive edge for their new business and take the ability offered by Ultrabeam to another level. They had already developed a specialist survey methodology to create industry leading data sets in terms of resolution and accuracy for 3D asset surveying, but they needed a way of combining this with a sea-worthy inspection platform that could be tightly controlled, whilst also overcoming some of the safety risks associated with asset surveying. Given that the vessel they designed is believed to be the first of its kind with no existing model to base its design upon Ultrabeam clearly needed an experienced engineering company with whom they could work closely to overcome the many challenges posed in building the vessel. An internet search revealed Alfa Engineering as just such a business with a reputation for working alongside clients with difficult challenges and finding answers where others could only find problems.
